Happy, Happy, Birthday Isabel Dear...

We had such a fun time with Isabel on her birthday! I really cannot believe she is 8 years old! My, where does the time go? She will be baptized in a few weeks and she is so excited about it!

She wanted a watch for her birthday and a ladybug cake with 8 spots. I think we delivered nicely...

She just loves the "peace" sign right now! If we could just get her to channel some of that inner peace towards her brother...
Oh, wait...here is some!

The 8 spotted ladybug cake!

Isabel "cha-cha-cha-ing as we sing to her.

Make a wish!

Another shot of her cake. I just think it turned out so cute! Don't you?

Here she is with her cousins who came for cake and ice cream!

Fun times! We love you Isabel!

Happy Valentine's Day 2010

Every year for Valentine's Day, I do a little valentine hunt. I put hearts with clues on them around the house and the kids (Isabel for now) reads the clue on the heart and races off to find the next one.

They go throughout the house and finally they find the Valentine's Day Surprise! It is so fun! The kids love running around the house searching for the next heart!

Chalk Art

I cannot believe the mild Winter we have been having! It was so nice last week that my kids wanted to play outside.

I sent them with a jacket of course and some chalk.

This is what Isabel came up with

Isn't this adorable?

Look! It's Papa with no hair! You can't read his shirt but it says "Dixie College #1" on it! What a great detail!

This is me! I love my cheeks and my lips! So cute! I believe those "C's" on my chest are not for "Cossa" if you know what I mean!

Look! We are holding hands! So cute!

A close-up of Papa's face...again so great!

A close-up of my face...love it!

What a budding little artist we have!

When I 'm Gone...

It's Saturday morning and I have a little running around to do as usual WITHOUT the kids! So I figure all will be well since their Papa is home. Maybe I shouldn't think that!

As I returned home, I opened the door and a horrid burning smell instantly penetrated up my nostrils straight to my brain telling me something went wrong. I have burned things before and it has smelled really bad. This smell, was 10 times worse than anything I have smelled before!

So it turns out that while Papa was downstairs on the computer, Zaquel decides he needs another bag of microwave popcorn. So he gets it out and takes off the plastic, (which is pretty smart of him) then he puts it in the microwave for 20 something minutes! I know how he operates the buttons he just randomly pushes them until all the spaces are filled up and then pushes start!

So he leaves as his popcorn cooks, cooks, cooks and cooks!

FINALLY, Isabel starts smelling the burnt popcorn and then the smoke detector starts to go off. All the while Papa is playing his little computer games with the sound obviously too loud! Isabel attempts to get her Papa and he finally comes up stairs to find this in the microwave!

So Papa then discovers that the microwave is the same color as the popcorn BLACK!

Just look at what it did to the bag!

He then has to spend FOREVER cleaning it up! The microwave was white and now the inside is stained yellow. Nice! He knew I would be home soon and that he had better clean-it up soon or else...I am sure nothing like this could ever happen when I was home! (Knock on wood)
Much to my dismay, I am sure we will be pricing out microwaves really soon!

I do hope our Papa has learned to actually supervise the kids while I am gone!

I do have to say that this little episode tops Papa's mishap in college. Let's just say that the cooking time for eggs is not 10 minutes! And you don't leave them in the shell while they are cooking. He blew off our microwave door and eggs were splattered everywhere in our little kitchen! It too occurred when I was gone... to work that time!

Anyone want a snack?
