Isabel started 2nd grade today! I can't believe it! I had been looking forward to this day since about mid JUNE! A bit early I know, but some days were just not too good!

We all got Father's Blessings last night by Marcos and that seemed to help ease a little of Isabel's nervousness.

She will have a great year with Mrs. Barbre and several of her old classmates are in her new class with her.

As I left her and was home swinging on the swings with Zaquel and Briel, I couldn't help but think and feel emotional about today. A part of me longed to be there with her and feel the excitement of the 1st day of school. Isabel is always telling me,"I wish you still taught at my school! Then I could come to your classroom after school like I used to." I sometimes wish I was still teaching there too. But, life changes. I am on a new adventure with preschool in a few weeks and I know I am doing the right thing by staying home with my little ones. They are only little once and I can go and work the rest of my life! I think I deserve a little break! She will appreciate me later for this...hopefully.

Schmidt Play Date 8-3-09

• We had so much fun on our little play date to the Museum of Natural History and Sweets Candy Factory. We also made an impromtu stop at Liberty Park due to extra time between exhibits and tours. It seems as though my children were the only ones who wanted to get wet. Amazingly, those high shooting fountains didn't intimidate my kids! I did make Zaquel take off his clothes because I knew he would want to get drenched, which he did,because we were headed to the candy factory afterwards and it would be really cold in there with wet clothes. They might not have even let him in. So, off he went in his underwear through the water up until the minute before we left! He did have to go commando the rest of the day...he didn't seem to mind.:)
  
• The Schmidt's who accompanied us were, Shannon, Bailey, Nick, Lexi, Amy, Abby, Caleb, Gabe, Emily, Hailey, Joye, Matt, and Jared.
• The best part about this was the cost! It was all FREE! Thinking of the BEST route to get blasted by the most water!

Zaquel LOVES sharing his testimony. He actually did it in sacrament meeting last fast Sunday and only needed a little help from Marcos. This is the 2nd time he has done that. He is one BRAVE boy that is for sure!
