My Job Description

So the other day, we were running a bit behind to pick-up Isabel from school (seems like it's more often than not these days). Here is my conversation with Zaquel.

Me: Zaquel! Give me those crackers so you can get buckled-up and hurry!
Z: Okay, Okay, just a minute.

(He seriously took forever to get in the van this day!)

Me: Hurry up!
Z: Don't be so demanding!

Me: Well then, hurry-up! (You would think he would get the point of what HURRY-up means...nope)
Z: Hold my crackers.

Me: Didn't I just ask you that?
Z: Mom, you have to do it when I tell you to because your job is to be a servant for kids!

Me: Laughter for hours!!

So, all you moms who have been wondering about your job description, well here it is! :)

Gotta Hate those Creditors!

So, it was time for Zaquel's well child check-up this month. We headed out on Wednesday. We get there and the nurse checks his eyes, height, weight, etc. We go to our room and wait for the doctor. In the mean time, I am given a developmental questionnaire. I am filling it out when I come to the part where I have to say a word and record the first thing that comes out of Zaquel's mouth. (This should be interesting was my first thought.)
So, I proceed all is well, with the words cup, table, and house. Then I say, "a fence". Zaquel says, "Something to keep creditors away". I couldn't tell if he said predators or creditors so I asked, "predators?" Zaquel answers, "Mom, you know the big mean animals?" So I say, "Oh, yes, predators." Zaquel rolls his eyes at me! The nerve of him!
The doctor finally comes in and reads over the questionnaire and stops at this question and says, "WOW Zaquel, you know about predators?" Zaquel says, "No, I said a fence is something to keep creditors away! I told you that first mom! Grown-ups never listen!"

Obviously, I need to work on my listening skills! LOL! I guess creditors could be considered big mean animals don't you?

I do love this boy of mine!

Family Goals

The new year is upon us and for Family Home Evening we made some goals. Each did some personal ones and we did some as a family. One of our family goals is to do a bit of exercising as a family each night. Tonight, Isabel was our trainer...She had us doing jumping jacks, invisible jump roping, push-ups, and tuck jumps. As we were doing our jumping jacks, Zaquel looked at me and said,"MOM! Don't shake your boobs!" I mean really, how candid can you get! I told him I couldn't do that and he said, "Well just try to okay?"
Hopefully, we will have less shaking at tomorrows exercise night! Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Family Pics continued

My kids have no patience (I have no idea why? Could it be inherited from their mother?)! Well, except Isabel... was so amazingly well behaved at the shoot I was so proud of her! Here are more of us, as if you can't get enough already! LOL!

Oh, how they LOVE him!

My Boys!

We couldn't leave ourselves out of the pictures! :)

He WAS looking here...and being himself! I do love him!

See! We kept trying to get him to look at Kim and he just just messing around! If would have looked, this one would have been perfect! Alas, perfection will not be found in this family!

Family Pics FINALLY!

Here are some of our amazing family pictures from back in Oct by the one and only Kim. Thanks for making us look fabulous and being patient with the kiddos! We love you!

What's in a name?

Do you know what's in a name? Does your name fit you or reveal a certain something about your personality?

I saw this idea and wanted to do it for myself. I took the idea one step further and did letters for my kids' names too! Magnificent don't you think?

When we frame them, they will go horizontally...couldn't really do it that way on here. You get the idea! Our last name is awesome too..I just wasn't sure I want all of cyberspace to know it! You will just have to stop by my house for that one!

A HUGE thanks to KIM who kindly indulged my crazy idea!

We did this during our family photo shoot in Oct. Those are a post for another day! :)
